Transparent ActiveX on a Web Page

Hello, I would like to develop a transparent activeX control that can float on top of web pages. In other words, you would be able to see through the activeX control to the page content behind it. I managed to get this to work for a desktop version of the application by following the examlpe at http://www.codeguru.com/vb/gen/vb_graphics/transparency/article.php/c6979/ . Unfotrunately, when I apply the same solution to an activeX control it does not work - my control stays gray and covers the page behind it. Could anyone point me in the right direction? What sort of thigs need to be accomplished for this to be feasable. Thanks!
