Validation trouble

  Ok I have a text box and have it being validated to make sure the number does not start with a zero and must be 8 characters long. The validation for that works but if someone enteres a space first it passes the validation. I am lloking for a way to have it catch that also. For it trulery is not 8 numbers long if it is with a space. Anyone have an idea on that validation? I also have the validator settign the focus on that text box when an error occurs.
