Redefining a Query

vb6.0 , MS access , Query Colombo, Sri Lanka

I am using Ms access as my database. Is there any way to get the total number of records having similar fields (2 fields, in this case), from the same file (table) into a variable. i.e if 5 records in the file are all having two fields which are the same, how can I write a code to count the number of records having these two fields and then put it in a variable.
