  I just got .net and im working on a project and i need to to  search the app.path/data  for all .dat file and then display them in a listbox can anyone give me this code ??

  if u downbload and register this ocx in the system folder of ure pc, http://www.martin2k.co.uk/vb6/ocxs/filesearch.zip ,u can then select in vb the ocx, ready to search for the .dat files now
  

  
  place a command button, list box, and a label,
  

  
  place this under the button
  FS1.SearchFile list1, "c:\locationofdatfiles\", ".dat", label1
  

  
  the results will come into the list and u can see the scan in the label as it happens
  

  
  u can change the location "c:\locationofdatfiles\" as text1.text for a user defined search location
