Tim Cummings: Apple WebObjects and Project Wonder - Spring Hill, Australia
happened 8 years ago
Organised by Groovy & Grails Queensland
Apple's WebObjects (essentially free/open source) and Project Wonder (free/open source) are collections of Java frameworks which provide html templating (similar to Tapestry) database abstraction (similar to Hibernate or Cayenne), and a deployment environment. You can choose to use all of these features or just the one's you want. Development uses the Eclipse IDE with the WOLips plug in. Apple's licence says their software is free for deployment anywhere (Mac, Linux, Windows etc)

The Retrospective Games - Spring Hill, Australia
happened 8 years ago
Organised by Brisbane Agile/Scrum User Group
My experience with retrospectives is that they become stale after a few sprints if limited to Went Well, Do Differently, etc. Fortunately other games are available to make retrospectives more fun and therefore more effective again. ESVP, Triple Nickles and SMART are some examples that we can share and experience first hand so you can decide what to do in your next retrospective!Come along to have some fun and interact with this style of learning/teaching.

AngularJS, VertX.io, HAL & EbeanA dream stack? Or are we back with the joke Java guy with his stack of beans? This day will attempt to cover all of these things. VertX.io is the async layer running on the JVM that is going head to head with nodejs. Angular is one of a number of Javascript binding frameworks that for most apps, Richard thinks wins out. HAL is Mark?s way of saying he doesn?t care about the client side, the server supports serendipitous reuse.
