Greater San Francisco Bay Apache LAMP Meetup Group

This group will be to learn and develop using the LAMP stack. If venue permits, this will be a "hands on" group...where we actually code in the meeting. We will try to minimize infomercials and concentrate on "getting our hands dirty". The organizer, Tish Wood, has been programming web applications for six years, four years using PHP and MySQL, and has his own web business www.tishwood.com. He has taught PHP-MySQL for 1.5 years in a two-year college in Texas...and has recently returned to the SF Bay area after leaving to begin his business in Texas in 2002. Tish worked in the Silicon Valley startup industry developing embedded Internet client, switching, DSL, networking and graphics products from 1997 to 2002. Tish was originally recruited to come to the Valley as a Tandem Computers embedded LAN engineer, leaving Alcatel Network Systems in Texas where he worked on SONET. In addition to teaching PHP and MySQL, he has taught Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML and Adobe Illustrator. He is well versed in many of the latest back-end and front-end technologies including almost the entire gamut of Adobe visual products. He has a BSCS from UT Dallas and a AAS in Electronic Technology.
