  We've had a good year in our Joomla Users Group, growing from zero to over 200 members. This meetup is a chance to celebrate the successes of the year and blow off some steam. Not sure where to have this yet. The iLab location is just a placeholder until we we get suggestions from group members today. Anyone got good ideas about a venue that has good food and drink, is not too busy, not too expensive and people from our group would feel at home in?

  We have not had a meeting for a couple of months. How about people come along with their current challenges around Joomla. I'll also arrange a case study to be presented by a group member. Something that seems to interest everyone is how to speed up the pace of development on sites so I'll arrange someone to give their take on this topic to start a lively discussion. I'd also like to talk about our progress towards creating a powerful Content Constructor Kit implementation for Joomla in Jentla.

• The inside scoop on Joomla 1.6

  Hi,Andrew Eddie has been hard at building Joomla 1.6 so let's have that as a focus of our meeting. Andrew is really busy so this will be an informal presentation but we'll put some effort into placing 1.6 into a context about where Joomla is headed. There is lot's of great stuff to look forward to!Damian Hickey will also do a presentation and demo about our new high end version of Jentla which does all the things a large corporate or government will want from Joomla.

  In this global economic crisis people really are looking to Free and Open Source solutions and Joomla in particular as a shining light as a brilliant FOSS CMS with very deep community and commercial support. The Joomla Day event will be a showcase of the benefits of Joomla for those new to Joomla, those already developing Joomla and those interested in using Joomla to improve their business processes.We've been waiting a while for the first Joomla Day in Brisbane. It will be a great day!
