"Extending Game Ideas – Building Serious Games” A Weekend of Game Exploration

Over the weekend of the 25th and 26th July, nti will be hosting 2 days of workshops as a continuation of the “SAGSET 2009 - Learning with Games 2009 Conference”.

The workshops will be delivered by “Futurelab – Bristol” and “SMARTlab - London”. Both of these organisations work and promote the use of new digital technology in novel and exciting ways both nationally and internationally.

Futurelab, based in Bristol is primarily focused on delivering innovative ideas to education. Their current themes are focused on digital inclusion, teachers and innovation, and learning spaces. One idea explored over the weekend workshops will be around novel interfaces, assistive technologies and how eye movement can be used to control games.

SMARTlab have a wider remit and describes itself as an incubator of community based ideas, choosing projects based on ethical concerns and social engagement. Mobile Games and Pervasive Computing are strands that will be explored in the workshops here.

This event is open to all, and will provide an opportunity for all people with an interest in extending game ideas and concepts to a wider sector to meet, discuss and share ideas.

Main Workshops Themes:
