i really dont think u can disable them but u can stop taskmanager from opening, thats wut ur intent is right?
the only way i havent tried is a low level keyboard hook, so if the my earlier links dont help, try that

the post we discuss on previous, it only work for winxp, now i need to know the method to disable the task manager on win2k and win2003, got any idea?

em....that was nice idea man, because if u set a screen always on top
    how about other program??

the user no need to use other program?

if u say, u can set a button to disable it, then what for u set it as always on top??
because other user can oso unlock the program.

if u say, use password to protect, another problem
when u press ctrl + alt + del again, it wil bring the task manager on top again.

so, ur idea may need to improve.....

in addition, i have solve this problem...
now i can got a idea to lock the task manager, even in windows 2003...

later when i finish i wil post the code...

thx for try to help me....

It is not very feasible to completely disable CTL-ALT-DEL via VB because you have to write a new GINA. I have made several posts about this a month or so ago, which contains links to MSDN info on the GINA and how it works. (or you can just google it)

    what is GINA????

can u explain on it Jon

jon i cant found the post, can u post the link again??

Check out these URLs for more info on the GINA-

Basically the GINA gets the CTL-ALT-DEL before your program does, so you can't hook the keyboard or similar tricks that worked on Win9x. To remove or modify the CTL-ALT-DEL screen (for instance, to add an option to logon via a VPN provider) you must write a custom GINA. On some systems you can limit CTL-ALT-DEL or taskman access via policies, but that solution is user-specific and any policies your program tried to create would be overwritten by domain policies when logging onto the network.

Jon, u have msn, icq or yahoo??

because i have few question on this topic, so is it possible ask u throung msn, icq, or yahoo??

I had ICQ, but don't use it anymore. In fact,I don't use any IM anymore because I was always being messaged by people wanting to chit-chat.

If you want to discuss something that you can't discuss in the forum, let me know and I will email you directly. If it is something that can be discussed here, why not let everyone benefit from the discussion?

discuss here oso can, but i think discuss on IM was faster the discuss here, because i need this urgent. anyway, i wil post my a question here again, thx Jon

Jon u have any idea on the Topmost function?

i need it can show a message on top when we running some game, for example, warcraft3...

    got any idea?

You can normally use the SetWindowPos API function to specify the z-order of a window (how they are layered, or which ones are on top). However, I think you are dealing with a different problem in regards to games, since most of them use DirectX with hardware acceleration. You might need to determine if the game does indeed use DirectX and display the message using DirectX.
