This group explores how web technology can be used in support of grassroots organizing and social activism. Like many tech meetups, we will gather together simply to share ideas, experiences, new tools, and a few laughs, so that we can better achieve our individual goals. At the same time, we'll work as a group to build a shared social vision, and will look for opportunities to coordinate our efforts in support of common goals. New York, with its deep pool of talented and passionate innovators, provides a unique opportunity to realize the potential of web technology to return the power to the people
