During the course of June’s Android User Group, we will present 2 talks on OpenGL and Widgets.

Richard Hyndman will present the widget framework, the new exciting presentation layer which offers application developers the ability to present dynamic data on the home screen. Richard will give an overview of Mippin.com's Android applications and a run through of the Ultimate Stopwatch and Battery Widget.

The second talk will give us an introduction to OpenGL and its implementation on the android framework. Dr Paul Thomas will talk about the basics of OpenGL, including projections, transformations, the frame- and z-buffers, and texture mapping. Then he will show how the OpenGL API is implemented on Android and how to write an app with a SurfaceView rendering 3D graphics in its own thread.

Hope to see you there!

Happy codding, ./Carl
