As more & more services move into "the cloud", it's not enough that all the functionality is there. As web professionals, we have a duty to make sure the code we produce is secure as well as "cool".
It's been three years since the Suburban Chicago PHP & Web Development Meetup talked about PHP security. Let's have a new discussion about the kinds of threats out there today and what you can do to prevent them.
Viveli Incorporated in Schaumburg has graciously offered us use of their game room for this month's meetup, and we should be getting our first visit from a Microsoft rep. It's going to be an exciting meetup this month!
Fair warning: we're going to take a pretty technical look at secure coding. If you're looking for a less technical look into security, the Fox Valley Computing Professionals is presenting Online Security for Business on December 14th in Wheaton. They will be teaching ways to secure your wireless access points, and protect yourself from viruses. They'll even be talking about potential legal pitfalls to look out for.
Hope to see you at both meetups!
