Edge UG is back again and we have 2 fantastic talks for you this month.
First up we have a Andrew Westgarth, Microsoft MVP for IIS come to give us an Overview of IIS 7. Specifically:
"IIS 7 and 7.5 offers IT Pros and Developers a raft of new features and benefits. New administrative tools such as remote management, delegated management, PowerShell Provider; Change of configuration formats from Metabase to XML Configuration files; Easy Application deployment are just some of the improvements not to mention the raft of Extensibility Options. In this session we'll look at some of the major changes and features which will improve the lives of both IT Pros and Developers."
That presentation will be followed by Mark Rendle of Dot Net Solutions who will be dropping in to discuss Functional Alchemy. What does that mean?
"C# 3.0 and LINQ have made anonymous delegates and closures a hot topic. C# 4.0 improves on them. But these "functional" features have applications beyond messing about with IEnumerable. In this session I'll present 10 simple and not-so-simple uses of first-class functions to help cut down on repeated code and improve maintainability; hopefully you'll discover a new and exciting way of approaching coding
problems."
As always there will be pizza plus we have several bits of SWAG to be giving away, we'd love to see as many of you there as possible.
