Progress helps SOA

This article was originally published in VSJ, which is now part of Developer Fusion.
Progress Software believes that its technologies can help you with your service-oriented architecture (SOA), and its re-vamped web site explains how.

The basic idea is that products from the ObjectStore and Sonic Software business units can be used to provide the data services back-end as well as the application integration front-end requirements of SOA. ObjectStore can provide the real time data services layer necessary to deliver virtual data integration at the back-end to SOA, just as an enterprise service bus such as Sonic ESB enables application integration at the front-end.

Using the Progress OpenEdge 10 platform for rapid development of component-based distributed applications, which can be easily exposed as Web Services, completes the picture.
