In The Brain of David Pollak, What is David Pollak going to say? - London, United Kingdom
happened 7 years ago
Usually people plan talks. David Pollak does so only grudgingly. But this is an evening talk. This is a talk where you're in David's brain (a scary place on the best of days.) So, what is David going to say? Who knows. Maybe he'll be boring and talk about Lift 3 and its support for converting Scala into JavaScript. Maybe he'll be outrageous and say scandalous things about other web frameworks (like the fact the Django was actually coded by goats... David has documentary evidence.

In The Brain of Bodil Stokke, ClojureScript all the way down - London, United Kingdom
happened 8 years ago
Node.js is really hip these days. Of course, a barrier to adoption for any sensible programmer is the fact that while the opportunities it provides for network programming are shiny and brilliant, it expects you to write your code in Javascript, a language born with so many design flaws it makes you pine for the halcyon days of COBOL. We've had a solution to the Javascript problem for a while now, though.

In The Brain of Janet Gregory, Current Testing Challenges for Agile Teams - London, United Kingdom
happened 8 years ago
****Sign up on our Skills Matter website - In the book that Janet Gregory wrote with Lisa Crispin (Agile Testing: A Practical Guide for Testers and Agile Teams), she recommends using the automation pyramid as a model for automated test coverage. In this model, most of the automated tests should be unit tests and tests below the user interface - API level tests. As more and more applications are transferring logic back into the client side (e.g. using JavaScript) , this model may fall apart.
