Intel AnyPoint 1.6Mbps USB Wireless Network

I'm using an Intel AnyPoint 1.6Mbps USB Wireless Network between two Windows XP computers.

the network's a lovely little sexy thing, however it has the infuriating habit of dropping the connection, which means the rest of the family moans that they can't use the (broadband) interent until i reset which ever computer it is that screwed up (more often than not both have to be rebooted to get it up and running again)

i'm using the latest (i think) xp drivers.

does anyone know of anything i can do to stop this happening? I've turned off QoS and Wireless Zero Configuration on both computers.

(when i was using narrowband it didn't [as far as i remember] have a trouble with dropping the connection [after i turned off QoS that is], but with 256kbps broadband it does..... could it be anything to do with the large amount of data being transferred?)

paul: I don't see how the extra traffic could be causing the connection to drop. Surely a 1Mbps network would be able to handle a 265kbps throughput. Does anything else get shared over the network during the sessions that might be eating your bandwidth?
