Excel spreadsheet accessing sql server

  I am not an experienced vb developer.  I had given to me a spreadsheet that accessed Oracle databases and ran several db monitoring type sql calls using vb.

  I would now like to convert this to connect to and run sql statements against sql server databases - I was wondering if anyone could give me an example of code that does such a thing.
