  Hi all Drew here hoping some-one can help me out

  Having problems using winsock to talk to a Sun server running Solaris.  Have made clients and servers before for Windows and had no problems but with the sun server, i get the correct IP address and port settings sent back to my application, from the server but when i get data when data arrival occurs, the data appears garbled and i cannot translate it despite trying a number of translation methods

  Am using a standard TCP/IP protocal and an IP address that is registerd within the network for my application and if i telnet using the dos prompt all responses from the server are correct.

  Anyone got any ideas?  This is the first time i have tried to use Winsock to talk to anything other than windows
