We've been speaking a lot about how to train ourselves for little or no money in the NYC Women in SharePoint meetings. Building a SharePoint environment is the best option, but the money, time and complexity involved make it impossible for most people to stand up their own environment.

Office 365, which is Office 2010, Exchange 2010, SharePoint 2010 and Lync (web conferencing, instant messaging, etc.) in the cloud, is now in Beta and should be available this summer. With Office 365 you should be able to just login and have a complete SharePoint environment at your fingertips! And the best part of it is that you can do it from anywhere and at any time and they will have a Small Business Plan that is only $6 a month per user.
