David Kadavy is the author of "Design for Hackers: Reverse-Engineering Beauty," (http://bit.ly/d4hbook...) due out with John Wiley & Sons in September 2011, in which he will break down the fundamentals of good design, thus liquefying your brain. David is the President of Kadavy, Inc., where he designs for clients such as oDesk, PBworks, and UserVoice, while blogging about design, entrepreneurship, and mucoceles athttp://kadavy.net.... Trained classically as a designer, David studied the origins of modern typography in the ruins of ancient Rome, and has taught a college course on typography. David's design work has been featured in the super prestigious "Communication Arts" magazine, and the typography lesson plans his students had to suffer through are featured in the book, "Type Rules!." Previous to starting Kadavy, Inc., David was Design Lead at a startup in San Francisco, and started the Graphic Design department at an architecture firm. David has a BFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University, and is originally from Omaha, Nebraska, where he hung out with Warren Buffett a lot (or at least drove by his house). When not writing or designing, David enjoys Latin dance and being really picky about tea.
