In this workshop we will write a simple application which will demonstrate how to use Google Maps in an Android app.  In doing this you will learn about:

  • Obtaining a Google Map key for Android
  • Creating a Google Map in an Android app
  • Different types of overlays, and when to use each type
  • Putting a marker on a map
  • Drawing a path on a map

Bring your laptop and make sure you have Eclipse, the Android SDK (version 2.x and up) and the addon installed.  We also assume you're familiar with the Java programming language.
