So far there are six sessions planned but we are getting new proposals to the e-mail address admin [AT] actionscript [DOT] it so the sessions will be updated often.

Planned sessions (last update 2nd August 2011)

Planet of the AOPs presentation (Michael Labriola and James Ward)
Learn about ways you can runtime modify Flex and ActionScript code to provide new features not available to Flex Developers at compile time. Come and learn this ludicrous technique which pushes the limits of the platform just one step farther. Discussion of aspects, proxies and other techniques will ensue opening up toward the idea of aspect oriented programming in ActionScript.

Coming soon to a player near you (Michelle Yaiser)
Come to learn about new and possible future features of Flash Player and AIR.

Real Time programming in Flex with Arduinos (Justin McLean)
This session looks at the revolution in low cost, easy to program embedded computing and connecting it to Flex. Focusing on the Arduino open source hardware and software platform and how it can be easily connected both directly and via ethernet. Topics covered range from digital and analogue input and output to creating your own web server (in under 20 lines of code). Session will include code samples and several hardware demos that turn LEDs on and off, show senors measurements and more. This session will show that it’s easier than you realize to interface Flex with hardware and with a little knowledge you too can can do this.

Shouting flashplayer (Marco Fusetti aka jaco)
How to have fun with AIR and sound, play a drumkit engine using android device

Flex Puzzler (Michael Labriola and James Ward)
A puzzler is a piece of code that does something unexpected.
During the session we will show the code, then ask the audience what the output it. Then tell
the the surprising answer and why.

The war of canvases (Giorgio Natili)
During the session we will analyze the main differences and similarities between the Flex Canvas and the HTML5 canvas. This analysis will help us to provide a (possible) answer to a couple of very hot questions:

- Which is the right technology to use for a mobile project?
- Which are the considerations to do before starting a mobile project? (cross technology)

We would love to say thank you to Adobe that helped us a lot to make possible this event.
