It's been awhile since we held lightning talks downtown, so let's do it! Here's the format:

  • A lightning talk is a focused, five minute talk. Speakers will get to the point quickly!
  • Lightning topics can be Ruby-related. Some speakers may choose a non-Ruby topic that interests Ruby developers.
  • Take a risk and give a talk. Don't worry if your talk is bad. It's only five minutes! And we won't record video that evening.
  • If your talk is great, celebrate! You might get invited back for a full-length presentation.

To submit a lightning talk for the May 1, 2012 meeting, visit http://chicagoruby.org/contact. Thanks!

After most downtown meetings
we head over to Elephant & Castle (185 N. Wabash) for refreshments & fellowship. Join us for a few minutes if you have time.

Please use your real name when you RSVP for downtown ChicagoRuby meetings. Reason: We are required to give a list of all attendees to the security desk prior to the meeting. If the name on your ID doesn't the match the name on the RSVP list, then Aon security will not let you in the building. Sorry for the inconvenience, but those are the rules of the Aon Building.

WindyCityDB goes beyond NoSQL 101. Four (4) NoSQL databases. Only 50 attendees. Plenty of hands-on lab time with experienced developers in the room. Learn more at http://windycitydb.org or on Twitter:@WindyCityDB.
