This time we'll be speaking with Mike Vitalo, who is a Senior Software Engineer with Crossroads Systems.  The company is headquartered here in Austin, and is growing.  They currently have 11 C++ engineering roles available...with a variety of levels of experience required (Junior, Mid-Level, and Senior).

You can view the descriptions online right now at:

Expect to hear about some of the interesting developments in a technology that's still quite alive in the enterprise, where orders of magnitude more storage is needed: magnetic tape! Mike is going to tell us about the specific project they are ramping up for, called "StrongBox":

Anyone is welcome to come and participate.  But the Crossroads recruiter did mention a target for job seekers having at least some OO/C++ experience, 3+ years of development in a Linux environment, and an understanding of what it takes to design and deploy well-tested multi-threaded programs.

This meetup leans a little more toward career networking than the North one.  But it also does double-duty as our South Austin programmer-talk gathering, so you certainly don't have to be unemployed or underemployed to attend!  We can talk about code, or just ramble about technology in general...

NOTE: The venue has food--as well as wine and beer--in case anyone was worried.
