Come hear Michael Pastore present on the topic "Hadoop on Azure" at the July RADNUG meeting.
This presentation will focus on MapReduce and Hadoop, both core technologies in addressing big data, and will touch on the constellation of tools surrounding them. Windows Azure HDInsight Service (Microsoft's Hadoop offering in the cloud) will be used to demonstrate the MapReduce programming model. The goals will be to debunk the some of the Big Data hype and get an understanding of how the map-reduce paradigm is applied to petabyte scale data.
