This session will provide an overview of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Windows professionals. I hope to shatter the myth that AWS is only for start-ups using open source technologies. We will begin with an overview of the AWS architecture focusing on the services most relevant to running Windows workloads including VPC, EC2, ELB and RDS. Then, we will build a simple web application from the ground up entirely in PowerShell. Finally, we will extend our simple application to build a highly available application that uses Auto Scaling to react to changes in load.
