"Officially" this will be a "Peer Code Review" hackfest... bring your stuff and have someone else offer some feedback! Demos are always welcome, as are questions and requests for a helping hand.

"Officially" this is also a "bring whatever you're working on" hackfest too. "We" love Ruby*, but we all know that Ruby doesn't hold the exclusive rights to all awesomeness... so bring your cool Plug Computer (Ben!) or Processing (Kyle!) or Rails (David!) or Actionscript/Flex (Carl!) or Amahi, the Uber Home-Server (Carlos) or Whatever (Dan!) projects and hang out with other hackers while you work on your stuff! We all know awesomeness loves company!

If you haven't been out for one of our Saturday hackfests, now's the time. Dust off your project and commit to spending a couple of hours each week to moving your dream forward. A little bit of applied effort over time has a cumulative effect and gets you that much closer to getting your stuff out into the world. "Real artists ship" and all that other true stuff, y'know? :)

Also, I'm well aware that we've all got busy schedules and hectic lives and that Saturday afternoons don't work well for all of us. (I scheduled 'em for Saturdays so I can show up [relatively] consistently.) If there is a day/time/location that'd work better for you, please share.

Personally, I'd love it if someone was interested in running a weeknight version of the group (regardless of frequency... it doesn't have to be every week) 'cause I'd love to see more face-to-face interaction with folks who are members of our Meetup group. The overall goal of this Meetup is to create an open, friendly, encouraging environment which nurtures personal and professional development. This obviously works best when folks get engaged/involved and having more meetups would create more opportunity for all of us, methinks.

Hope to literally see you soon!

  • Java developers are welcome too! ;)
