EMC / VMware has generously allowed us to use their offices for this meetup! We have a huge projector and conference table to make it easy to see and to participate in the lab. It's a powerpoint-free zone (no boring slides) and this wednesday's second topic will be reducing the size of your VMs by up to 95% so that more of them can run on the same box. Just enough OS (JeOS) to run your app.

100 VMs on a box? Absolutely.

Please RSVP in advance to be on the list for building security.

In this meetup, we will demo, discuss, and debate different hypervisors, iSCSI SAN solutions and whitebox (home hardware) solutions. There will be either an 8 port or 24 port switch (depending on number of RSVPs) for you to plug into and run your own ESX hosts and perform OS loads and live migrations.

I'll provide the iSCSI SAN (recently upgraded) and Vcenter servers and all of the OS load media on ISOs.
