Announcing the official HBase User Group for the 0.20 release! This meetup is being sponsored and hosted by StumbleUpon and will be kicking off a full weekend of HBase hacking.

This user group will be focused on the all-new 0.20 version of HBase. We will be covering topics such as:
• The new Java client and MapReduce APIs
• Performance and architectural improvements
• Configuration of ZooKeeper and multi-master support
• Migrating from previous versions
• Lots of Q&A, so bring your questions!
•
All are welcome to the HUG! This will be user-focused so no previous experience with HBase development is required.

The meetup should last a few hours. Afterward many of us will head to a local pub for drinks and NoSQL musings.

On Saturday August 8th and Sunday August 9th, StumbleUpon will also be hosting the second HBase Hackathon. This will be focused on planning (and hacking) for the 0.21 release and is primarily for committers and contributors.
