By popular demand, a discussion of Google Applications will be presented. In our quest to find a good meeting spot with plenty of cheap beer that's not too noisy, our March meeting will be at the Gold Coast Casino, in the Red Zone Bar.
The Red Zone Bar is in the back of the casino, next to the buffet. The happy hour runs from 5-10 PM daily, and includes $1 Coors Light Draft in a quasi-collector's edition plastic cup. The specials also include $2 Blue Moon Draft, presumably in the same plastic cup as the Coors Light, and $4 shots of unspecified provenance.
The bar is fairly quiet most nights, and we hope that the Thursday night of the second week of March Madness will not be overwhelmingly busy. With any luck, this will become a good meeting spot for us. The lounge at South Point that was the site of previous meetings now has live music 4-5 nights a week, and it's a little too loud.
The Gold Coast Casino is at the corner of Flamingo and Valley View, one block west of I-15 and across the street from the Rio and the Palms.
As always, look for the laptop with the Las Vegas Linux logo on it. See you there!
