Who's breaking your site? Now you can find out.

Google have released an update to their webmaster tools enabling developers to see what sites are linking to missing pages on their site. For some time Google have listed URLs which are returning 404 page not found errors from a website in the tool, but this could be frustrating without knowing where this link was coming from - and therefore which to prioritise fixing.

Now, webmasters of verified sites are able to view the number of sites linking to the broken pages, and the exact URLs on which the links occur - leaving them free to either contact the site owner to fix the link, or set up a redirect on their own site to make the links work again - and making the link count again towards their SEO.
