Rick Livermore

I am a junior visual basic .net software developer, but I have lots of practical experience coding in Basic. I built a two dimensional array in Basic with the ability to calculate payroll checks for a confidential payroll in a corporate office in 1983, before personal computers had been introduced to the modern office. This was also before the invention of modern spreadsheets. My first spreadsheet was Lotus 123, then I learned Symphony, and now I use Excel. My computer then was a Timex Sinclair 1000 and I stored my code on a cassette tape recorder. The computer monitor was a TV set.

I am currently in process of becoming a Microsoft Certified Professional. My first exam will be for Visual Basic .Net I have a very interesting story to tell to anyone who would care to ask me about Bill Gates. If you would like to read the story, email me and I will forward the article to you.
