The Indianapolis PHP December Meetup

Date
2-3 Dec 2009 (Add to calendar) GMT
Venue
(Exact location not available) , Indianapolis, US
Cost
Free

As always, this meetup is FREE! Harold Consulting is the perennial sponsor of the meetup group, while Kishan Ranasinghe has graciously provided us with an excellent location. If you are interested in sponsoring a PHP meetup, please contact Ben Harold, the meetup organizer, through the meetup website.

During the August meetup we will be discussing E-Commerce solutions and how PHP has nestled itself right into the middle of what will undoubtedly grow to be the largest sales market on the planet. Last month we had Andy Harris, a computer science professor at IUPUI, show up and review the basic tenants of proper database design and management, as well as introducing us to the coolest new features of MySQL 5 (namely views).

I hope to see you all there. Remember, the more, the merrier. Also, my E-Commerce examples will have nothing to do with theory and everything to do with everyday experience, as all of my examples will be coming from my two and a half year old online retail business, which is running on Zen-Cart (an OScommerce derivative). Bring your questions and I'll teach you how to make money selling widgets (not from the Mac OS X dashboard) on your website!

I'm excited to announce IndyFlash has a meeting location for December. Sam and Quinn from Touch A Soul were gracious enough to volunteer their office in Broad Ripple. There is plenty of parking, lots of chairs and the Broad Ripple Brewpub is conveniently right across the street. This is the first solo meeting with me as the manager, so we'll begin with introductions and questions/suggestions about IndyFlash.

    The Cincinnati Drupal December Meetup

    108km away in Cincinnati

Last month was pretty successful in doing a series of 'lighting' presentations. Since we do not have a specific topic for October, we will be doing them again. Anybody present can get up and talk about anything they want, as long as it is Drupal related. Usually this would be 5 - 15 minutes each, but we are fine if they run long.
