Previously, Application Styling was only available for Windows Forms controls, but this version sees the introduction of WebAppStylist, a CSS-based tool which enables the creation of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), allowing developers to set a look and feel across ASP.NET controls or applications with a style library, at design or run-time. WebChart (which shares a core charting engine with WinChart) now provides over 35 two-dimensional and 25 three-dimensional chart types, for visual data representation. Infragistics has also provided a new Resizer control built on Microsoft’s AJAX framework. WebGrid performance has been enhanced with improved data filtering, and Excel integration is further extended.
Enhancements to the Windows Forms components include Express Styling, which generates a custom style for an entire application based on a simple selection of colours from a palette, and additional Office 2007 functionality including Conditional Formatting in WinGrid, and new Ribbon functionalities such as RibbonMDI Merging and a new ControlContainer control on the Office Ribbon.
