Sybase has introduced .NET Framework-based enhancements to its rapid application development tool, PowerBuilder, and also to DataWindow – its component designed to simplify and accelerate the creation of data-driven applications.

Newly introduced features availabe in PowerBuilder 11 include Windows Vista support, .NET Framework incremental compile capabilities, and database driver enhancements, including Informix 10 support.

DataWindow .NET 2.5 has been updated with a new data source and presentation style. Developers can now build a DataWindow from a Web service, and the TreeView presentation style that is available for the desktop is now available for Web-based applications as well.

By integrating the design-time environment as part of the product, developers can now be more efficient and never have to leave the Visual Studio integrated development environment.
