Tim Cummings: Apple WebObjects and Project Wonder - Spring Hill, Australia
happened 8 years ago
Organised by Groovy & Grails Queensland
Apple's WebObjects (essentially free/open source) and Project Wonder (free/open source) are collections of Java frameworks which provide html templating (similar to Tapestry) database abstraction (similar to Hibernate or Cayenne), and a deployment environment. You can choose to use all of these features or just the one's you want. Development uses the Eclipse IDE with the WOLips plug in. Apple's licence says their software is free for deployment anywhere (Mac, Linux, Windows etc)

I've done an OK job of things until recently but I think the group needs to be managed by somebody who uses Ruby/Rails every day and really makes it part of their life.We need a talk for next meet up so I will try and get that lined up this week ... volunteer now!

Joomla and Server setting optimization - Spring Hill, Australia
happened 10 years ago
Organised by Joomla User Group Brisbane
Some detailed information on what to look for in a joomla host would be great. Ie what are the optimum PHP memory limits, should safe mode really be on or off and what security measures to install if it is off.Reasoning: we are having intermittant 500 internal server errors, and have spent 2 weeks trying to find out the reasons behind this. Are some templates too feature rich and demand too much processor power? Are there any other factors which generate 500 internal server errors?
