Join us on Tuesday the 17th at New Horizons Computer Learning Center for our March meeting. The March meeting will feature Certified Information System Security Profession, Nat Thompson presenting on Protecting Data at Rest with Transparent Data Encryption. Nat will be discussing the reality of data loss incidents including recent statistics, compliance requirements and penalties, and strategies for using SQL Server to reduce risk due to compromised data.

Nat is a graduate of the University of Alabama where he earned a BS degree in Management Information Systems. He has worked as a software developer for IBM and Emerald Solutions until 2001. From 2001 to 2006 he worked in credit card processing e-commerce development for EBSCO Industries and is currently the Manager of the Online Purchasing Security department at EBSCO which handles all of the company's credit card processing compliant to Payment Card Industry standards.
