Javascript is a language that all good web developers must know. Being around since the early 90s it's still the primary way to do client side web development. We will be covering basic Javascript, to the JQuery library, dynamic HTML, to JSON and APIs. Students will exit this class having a good grasp of basic programming principles and the knowledge of how to manipulate html elements.

We suggest having a working knowledge of HTML as a pre-requisite for this course.

This 4-class JavaScript course runs Thursdays from March 3rd to March 31st (skipping the 10th due to SXSW):

  • Class 1, Intro to JavaScript: Thursday, March 3rd, 7-9pm
  • Class 2, Intro to JQuery: Thursday, March 17th, 7-9pm
  • Class 3, Element Manipulation with JQuery: Thursday, March 24th, 7-9pm
  • Class 4, APIs and JSON using Meetup and Facebook: Thursday, March, 31st, 7-9pm

If you do not have a laptop, please email [email protected] so we can try and secure a loaner for you.

The course will take place at Now Work City, the closest subways are the NRQ/JZ/6 on Canal Street and the 1-2-3/A-C-E aren't far.

We are skipping the second week of March due to SXSW, but we will be back the week after!
