New perspectives of Android development

With the explosive growth of the tablets and other form factors Android is more than just a mobile OS. This presentation will demonstrate the tablet opportunity for existing and new Android developers and how they can efficiently build and manage applications that scale and suit well for multiple form factors. It will present features of Android's Honeycomb OS such as the Fragments API that developers can take advantage to create compelling apps.
The presentation will also  discuss how dynamic languages can be used on the Android platform with focus on the Mirah language. Mirah is a recent breed of Ruby / Java that allows for the flexibility of a dynamic language without the cost of needing a run time library. We will demonstrate Mirah on Android via an example app that connects to a RESTful web service using a framework  called Protoform (https://github.com/zapnap/protoform).
