Presentation Abstract
IndexTank is a highly scalable hosted search platform with a rich feature set and a powerful API.  With a free developer account, you can fire up one of many clients and index your data while accessing results in real time.  In this talk we'll cover the basic features as well as advanced features including faceting, full-text, and geo search.  We'll talk about what makes IndexTank so performant and powerful.  We'll finish with a live demo to show the ease of integration.

Bio:
Tim Spence is an engineer at San Francisco based MedHelp.  While learning Ruby on Rails and engaging in a long job hunt, Tim stumbled upon the IndexTank API and integrated it into two useful web apps.  Before joining the Ruby world, Tim was a .NET developer for Miami / San Francisco based Scrapblog.  Prior to that, Tim had his first web development gig with Pompano Beach, FL based Matchdoctor.

Pre-meetup nosh:
We usually meet at the Biryani House (Shattuck @ University) around 5:00pm for snacks and tech talk. Either Rich or Jon will be there... or someone else from the group. Join us if you can and enjoy the food and the discussion.
