"What's New in jQuery"
Ryan will do a presentation on some of the new features release in the latest jQuery
Advanced JavaScript techniques
Large web-based applications usually require frameworks to minimised and automate routine input-output operations. This talk will explore building a memory-resident JavaScript framework for a large web application. The framework provides the following services: keyboard control of user input to minimise data errors; communicating with a database on a back-end server using AJAX; creating objects from HTML elements and injecting the objects into client programs; caching frequently-used database tables; creating tooltips in client programs to assist users; creating and using views of database tables; and finally, error detection and reporting for client programs. Client programs are reduced to a fraction of what normally would be required, and are easy to write, maintain and debug.
