Hello Everyone!

We two presentations for the upcoming September meeting:

 

Implementing Security For A Resource-Oriented API - Reed Esau

Cover the basics of security on the MarkLogic platform, including authentication, the use of roles, permissions and protected collections, and writing automated regression tests around security. A code-intensive demo will extend a simple resource-oriented API with role-based security.

 

From CEO on down, an Increased focus on developer and student community - what does that mean? - Eric Bloch

Eric will discuss how the increased emphasis of community will affect developers and students in a positive way.

 

Bios:

Reed Esau works at Catalyst Repository Systems in LoDo where he has been developing on the Marklogic platform for three years.

Eric Bloch, MarkLogic's community director has been building cutting-edge, high-performance software products for over 20 years.  He is an open-source contributor, has written software that's been used by 10s of millions of people, is named on 4 U.S. patents, and has held technical and managerial positions at Oracle, SGI, IronPort (purchased by Cisco in 2007), and Clearwell Systems.  He has dual graduate degrees from Stanford in computer science and sociology and an undergraduate degree from Brown in math and computer science.  He's currently responsible for MarkLogic's developer community programs, events, software projects, and http://developer.marklogic.com itself.  In addition, he oversees the ongoing operations of MarkMail (http://markmail.org).  ; On occasion, he plays trombone for the Tribal Blues Band.
