FEDSPUG and Women in SharePoint DC are happy to announce that we will be hosting SharePoint Rockstar and Mindsharp CEO Bill English in December.

Title: Strategy, Governance, SharePoint and Information Architecture: a Model that Puts it All Together

Abstract: In this session, you’ll learn a practical model that puts together your organization’s strategy, governance, SharePoint deployment and Information architecture. While many of the concepts will be presented with SharePoint Server 2010 in mind, the concepts can be broadly applicable to your other information systems as well.  What will be presented in not technical in nature and no SharePoint demos are given during this session.  Instead, you’ll learn about a way of thinking about how to manage your information better given the context of the model you will learn.

By attending this session, attendees will learn:
1. How organization strategies and goals should drive feature adoption in SharePoint
2. Why it is best to adopt a federated governance model when it comes to a SharePoint implementation and more generally, information management
3. How to utilize this model when the organization’s mission, vision, strategies and goals are not clearly articulated, constantly change or are not adequately referenced or enforced
