Search, Search, Search!

Join us this week as Dan Funk talks about implementing search in your web application using Solr (http://lucene.apache.org/solr/). Project Blacklight at the University of Viriginia library is one of Dan's most recent experiences with Solr and searching. And since Solr (and Lucene) is Java, even our Python, Java, and ASP friends will be able to use it!

If you have experience with other search tools (eg thinking_sphinx, ferret, etc) prep some questions to stoke the discussion.

We'll also briefly discuss our new hack night schedule and still could use a speaker for the next couple months.

And remember our local (well, DC) Ruby conference is coming up: http://www.rubynation.org/registration

“Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.” - Brian Kernighan
