Abstract
In this talk, Stephen Walther introduces you to Windows Metro style applications by providing a step-by-step walkthrough of building a simple task list application. You learn how to leverage your existing HTML5 and JavaScript knowledge when creating desktop applications for the Windows 8 operating system. In particular, you learn how to use WinJS JavaScript controls such as the ListView and FlipView controls.
Bio
Stephen Walther is the author of the forthcoming book Windows 8 Metro Apps with HTML5 and JavaScript Unleashed. He is a former Senior Program Manager on the Microsoft ASP.NET team where he worked on ASP.NET MVC and the Microsoft Ajax Framework.
