Ryan Chouinard, a developer at MySQL.com, will be giving a presentation this month about application security. In his own words:
"I'll be covering the top threats currently faced by Web applications: cross-site scripting, session hijacking, SQL injection, and plain-old brute-force login attacks. Since most successful attacks stem from one of these base methods, knowing the foundations is vital. I'll also talk a bit about properly storing sensitive data such as user information and passwords in order to minimize the impact of a successful attack."
