We have seen many presentations over the past few years on Azure as a Cloud-based application development platform for developing & deploying “elastic” applications that can easily scale up and scale down as end-user demand/load requires. With the latest Azure release over the summer, we can now easily spin up “Infrastructure as a Service” (IaaS) Cloud Services in Azure as well, including:
Virtual Machines, where you can install any/all Microsoft server product (excluding Terminal Services for now)
Local Networks and Virtual Networks where you can extend your corporate network safely and securely over an IPSec VPN to easily deploy other core IT infrastructure services (such as Domain Controllers, AD Federation Servers, DNS, file servers, etc) in a Cloud model
In this presentation, we will provide an overview of the Azure IaaS services and walk thru a demonstration of setting up an Azure Virtual Network, then deploying Virtual Machines on that Virtual Network.
