The July meetup is now confirmed. It will be the first week of July.
Yahoo!Xtras Technical Director, Neil (Wilf) Wilkinson, will be talking about:
YQL is Yahoos SQL-like language that provides straightforward ways to mash up different APIs into one data source for use in applications. The presentation will outline how YQL allows developers to mash HTML pages, publicly available feeds, Yahoo APIs, external APIs and their own data tables into a single query to make the most of almost anything you find on the internet.
In addition Wilf will take you through some of the more innovative APIs that Yahoo! offers, including BOSS (build your own search engine) and Flickr (the worlds largest photo sharing API).
There is a Yahoo!Xtra Hack event in the pipeline, but dates and details of this are still a ways off. Keep your eye on the Yahoo! Developer Network website (http://developer.yahoo.com/) for info about developer events as well as blogs and endless useful stuff relating to Yahoo!s open services. We will also have James Cooper from vectorstock.com.
"Were at over 200k users now and for me its a developers dream project that's constantly evolving. Its a massive beast that has a lot more to talk about than just e-commerce."
And last but not least Greg Wood talking about judging the Cannes Cyber Lions. Limited spaces to RSVP below.
