Presentations by some of the top and active developers in the PHP community ....

Ben Ramsey and Cal Evans will each be doing a short (10-15 minutes) presentation. There will be time to mingle afterwards as pizza and refreshments will be provided by Hensel Hosting (http://www.henselhosting.com/).

Thanks to CoWorking (http://www.coworkingfullerton.com/) for providing the venue.

The following books will be Raffled (all un-used):
• Essential PHP Security (O'Reilly)
  • Securing PHP Web Applications (Addison Wesley)
  • Professional PHP 5 (Wrox)
  • Dojo (Addison Wesley)
  •
Do you have PHP books in good condition you no longer use? Come by and drop them off at the meetup. They can then be raffled/given away at various future OCPHP events. This is a great way to help others in the local PHP community and a great way to recycle those dust collecting books !

RSVP early if you can attend for sure. Seating may be limited so come early. This is a presentation and mingling affair so laptops may not be necessary but bring a notepad if you wish to take notes.

Exact topics for the presentations will be posted at a later date so check back here before attending on the 24th.

    CAL EVANS

For the past 8 years Cal has worked with PHP and MySQL on Linux OSX, and when necessary, Windows. He has built a variety of projects ranging in size from simple web pages to multi-million dollar web applications. When not banging his head on his monitor, attempting a blood sacrifice to get a particular piece of code working, he enjoys building and managing development teams using his widely imitated but never patented management style of "management by wandering around."

Cal is currently based in Utrecht, Netherlands. He is a professional member of the PHP community and attends more conferences in a year than most people get to go to in a lifetime. He fills his spare time as the Director of the PCE for Ibuildings. Cal is responsible for coordinating the awesome Dutch PHP Conference in Amsterdam. In Cal's past life, he was the Editor in Chief of Zend's DevZone, host of the podcast PHP Abstract and responsible for coordinating ZendCon. Cal is the author of php|architect's Guide to Programming with Zend Framework.

Thanks to our Venue Sponsor: CoWorking Fullerton

Coworking Fullerton is the ideal office for all people who have a business or work on a business but do not (always) have a regular office to go to. We try to be that home. Where you can walk in, feel at home, drink some coffee, bring your lunch and get work done! Its a productive environment for people that need to be productive now and then, but sometimes miss the watercooler to bump into some cool coworkers you can talk to and help each other out. Coworking Fullerton is a place where any (home based) business owner, or professional can feel at home.

We organize workshops and fun events to learn, network and build relationships.

One of our main events is the Jelly, which is a free casual coworking get-together every 2nd Wednesday of the month.

If you get bored of talking to your cat, or still feel lonely at an executive suite where your working all on your own all day. Come check out Coworking Fullerton. Our workshops and events are a great way to get to know people who work here.
