I will give an introduction to the fundamentals of application development on the Android platform. I will talk about the most important concepts - Activities, lifecycles, resources, Intents, etc. - and walk through developing a simple application. I will try to keep the time for this to about an hour - please show up on time.

This should be accessible to the curious who are considering getting started, the new folks who are confused by the volumes of online SDK documentation, and experienced hackers who like heckling and correcting the presenter (seriously, don't let me mislead anyone!). Also, I will be there an hour early - if you are having problems getting set up or questions about something, bring your computer and I'll try to help.

The venue is the CCC in Carrboro - which might sound far away to the Raleigh folks but it's really not as far as it sounds, has good parking, good wifi, good outlets for laptops, and a big wall display so you can actually see what's being presented.
